De la produsele alimentare de baza, la utilizarea de produse cosmetice si farmaceutice care pot fi ingerate frecvent, pana la utilizarea de sisteme nanostructurate pentru administrarea \u021bintit\u0103 a unor medicamente, microbiota rezident\u0103 este expusa in permanenta actiunii nanoparticulelor (NPs). Efectul NPs asupra membrilor microbiotei normale (situata in cea mai mare parte la nivel gastro-intestinal) sunt foarte putin cunoscute. Scopul acestui proiect este de a investiga interac\u021biunea in vitro dintre NPs anorganice, intalnite pe scar\u0103 larg\u0103 \u00een practicile medicale comune, \u0219i tulpini bacteriene cultivabile cu potential probiotic izolate din microbiota. Stabilirea impactului unor astfel de nanomateriale, cu privire la propriet\u0103\u021bile antimicrobiene potentiale ale acestora (respectiv inhibarea cre\u0219terii \u0219i multiplic\u0103rii, modularea aderen\u021bei microbiene \u0219i controlul fenomenului de rezisten\u021b\u0103 la antibiotice) asupra microbiotei \u0219i\/sau asupra speciilor cu poten\u021bial probiotic, ar \u00eembun\u0103t\u0103\u021bi semnificativ cuno\u0219tin\u021bele actuale cu privire la modularea echilibrului microbiotei normale in societatea moderna. Deoarece microbiota are capacitatea de a controla numeroase boli moderne, cunoasterea impactului NPs asupra membrilor microbiotei este esentiala pentru instalarea si progresia a numeroase boli (in special a infectiilor).<br><strong>Abstract (english)<\/strong>: A large amount of recent scientific evidence supports the idea that microbiota-based therapies can be used to modulate host metabolism and the development of numerous diseases, such as metabolic syndrome, obesity, inflammatory bowel disease, liver diseases, emerging infectious diseases, diabetus mellitus, atherosclerosis, cancer, allergies, and central nervous system disorders, including depression, anxiety, Parkinson\u2019s disease, Alzheimer\u2019s disease, multiple sclerosis and symptomologies of autism spectrum disorder. &nbsp;Such approaches are expected to move from bench to bedside in the near future. From ingested food, to the use of daily products that can be easily ingested, and also to the use of nanosized drug delivery systems for therapy, resident microbiota is prone to be \u201cinfluenced\u201d by these nanomaterials in widely undiscovered ways. The aim of this project is to investigate the in vitro interactions among inorganic nanoparticles (NPs) widely encountered in common practices and cultivable microbiota and probiotic isolates. Establishing the impact of such nanomaterials, in terms of antimicrobial properties, growth inhibition and antipathogenic protection properties (i.e. modulation of the microbial attachment, pathogen growth inhibition, antibiotic resistance control etc) on model microbiota with probiotic potential species would significantly improve the current knowledge regarding microbiota modulation.
